We operate in partnership with Bournemouth University which is home to over 18,000 students and almost 2,000 staff. The University is split into two campuses, Talbot Campus and Lansdowne Campus, and offers over 150 undergraduate degrees along with almost 100 Master’s degrees. Founded in the early 20th century, its world-leading research spans a range of areas, with expertise in forensic archaeology and crime scene science – from investigating genocide in Iraq, Bosnia and Rwanda to the implications of unearthing 40,000 year old human footprints in central Mexico.
The University is also recognised as the only Centre for Excellence in Media Practice in the UK and graduates from the National Centre for Computer Animation have worked in Hollywood on films including Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Star Wars, Madagascar and King Kong – to name a few!
We enjoy a collaborative relationship with Bournemouth University and are responsible for 704 beds at three newly built accommodation blocks at the Lansdowne Campus: Chesil House, Lyme Regis House and Okeford House. We’ve created a warm and welcoming student community – Bournemouth University Village – and work closely with the University to understand, and listen to, our residents. This approach ensures that residents can expect the right facilities, support and environment for their studies, lifestyle and wellbeing.
We’ve invested over £400,000, since the summer of 2014, as part of a two year maintenance and refurbishment programme, to include a complete reworking of social areas. These plans include a cinema room, gaming station, group study facilities and a demonstration and private dining kitchen. Our residents deserve an enhanced student experience and greater satisfaction from their home at University, and we do everything we can to deliver this.
