Our team is available 24/7, 365 days a year and work hard to provide you with academic support, facilities maintenance, events and advice. Our team have been carefully selected based on the their skill-set, qualifications and passion for young people. The years you spend at university will undoubtedly be some of the most memorable and we will make sure that you have the experience of a lifetime here at UC Accommodation.

who we are

Dion Brown

General Manager

Dion’s primary objective with the University of Canterbury Accommodation is to ensure that all residents remain focused on their academic goals while enjoying the vibrant and diverse lifestyle that the Village has to offer. You’ll find Dion moving between Uni Hall, Sonoda and Ilam Apartments to ensure the smooth running of each site, and to make sure that all residents are getting the on-campus experience they deserve while completing their studies. Anna Williams

Village Manager

Anna is here to help you settle in and make your stay as comfortable as it can be. She oversees all pastoral care matters within the Village, and her primary objective is to make sure everyone feels welcome. Her door is always open, so come and say hi! Anna.williams@clv.co.nz

Lesa Devcich

Housekeeping Manager

Lesa is in charge of everything to do with cleaning and housekeeping at the Village. She manages the team of cleaners that make sure your apartment and common areas are clean and tidy. Make sure you say hello, she is always around! Lesa.devcich@clv.co.nz

John Liddell

Senior Evening Services Coordinator

John is the permanent staff member to go to for assistance outside of regular Reception hours. If you’re locked out of your room, you have a noise complaint, or if there is an emergency, John is there to respond. At the Village you are never without help if you need it, and John is there to assist with any and all of your requests or concerns. Make sure you say hello! John.liddell@clv.co.nz

Christine Wilson

Residential Services Team Leader

Christine oversees the Accommodation Officers and Village Assistants to make sure all administration issues are taken care of in a timely fashion. You will find her behind the front desk assisting residents, taking payments and assisting with general inquiries whenever she can. Christine is always around to lend a helping hand! Natasha Pinkney

Residential Services Officer

Tash is the first friend you’ll make when you check in to stay at Uni Hall! You will find her behind the Reception desk answering questions, taking payments and chatting with all the residents who come in to say hello! Natasha.pinkney@clv.co.nz

Jess Hardley

Village Assistant

Jess is a bit of an office chameleon, assisting with any and all admin tasks that need attention. You will find Jess at her desk in Reception, or answering questions at the front desk. Either way, you are bound to meet her some time, so don’t be shy and introduce yourself! Jess.hardley@clv.co.nz

Jeremy Ross

Accountant

Jeremy is the man behind the scenes when it comes to all financial matters with the Village. He’s just one of the very many friendly faces you’ll see at Uni Hall reception, so make sure you come and say hello! Jeremy.ross@clv.co.nz

Rachel Johnson

Accommodation Manager

You might be seeing Rachel’s emails long before you meet her in person! She is responsible for the nitty-gritty details of your stay at the Village. Her primary responsibilities are to handle all contracts and financial accounts of the residents living in the Village, so if you have any concerns or queries about your contract or the Village rules come and ask her! Charlotte Easton

Marketing Executive

Charlotte is in charge of all things marketing at the Village, and you’ll find her moving between Uni Hall, Sonoda and Ilam Apartments on a daily basis. She's also responsible for a lot of the giveaways at UCA so make sure you say hi and check out her Facebook posts to be in with a chance of winning some goodies! Charlotte.easton@clv.co.nz

Gabriel Antal

Catering Manager

Gabriel runs the Uni Hall kitchen and is paramount in ensuring our residents have a healthy diet. He is passionate about food and making sure our residents eat well and enjoy their meals. He loves feedback so make sure you give it! Gabriel.antal@clv.co.nz

Sharron Griffiths

Chef/Sous Chef

Sharon directly assists the kitchen team in producing a range of fresh and modern cuisine for the residents who live at University Hall. She is passionate about food and a regular friendly face, come and say hello!

Neranga Jayaweara

Hi I'm NJ, and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a bit about me in the mean time: In 2016 I'll be in my fourth year of study, studying towards a Masters in Applied Economics and Finance. My favourite part of NZ is Mount Cook. My favourite hobby is playing imaginary cricket. Something you dong know about me is that I played cricket at a national level for Sri Lanka. My favourite quote is "Experience is the best teacher".

Angus Howat

Hi I'm Angus, and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a bit about me in the mean time: I am a third year Geography and Psychology student at UC. My favourite place in New Zealand is Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel. Most people don't know that one of my goals in life is to sing at Christmas in the Park. I can't wait to meet you all! My favourite part of NZ is Queenstown. My favourite hobby is eating out with friends. Something you don't know about me is that i lived in Italy and can speak Italian. My favourite hobby is cycling. Something you don't know about me is that I have swum from Rangitoto Island back to Auckland! You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out-teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will sine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely".

My favourite places in NZ are Coromandel Peninsula, Queenstown and the view form Mount Maunganui in Tauranga. My favourite hobbies are swimming, playing football and running. Something you don't know about me is I'm a very good salsa and bachata dancer! My favourite quote is, "The tragedy in life does not lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having not a goal to reach".

Bracken Finch-Reeves

Hi I'm Bracken, and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a bit about me in the mean time: In 2016 I'll be in my fourth year of study, studying Law and Arts (Political Science and Economics). My favourite part of New Zealand is Gisborne on the 31st of December. My favourite hobby is watching and playing sport. I'm a huge cricket supporter and I play rugby for Marist Albion. Most people don't know that I'm a huge antique shopper - besides tables are always a good buy! My favourite quote comes from Muhammad Ali, an inspirational athlete and a social warrior, "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life".

Here's a bit about me in the mean time: I'm studying towards a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts in Law, Economics and Political Science. My favourite part of NZ is Lincoln, Christchurch. My favourite hobby is cooking. Something you don't know about me is that I've worn glasses since I was seven years old. Marchelle Gerrard

Hi I'm Marchelle, and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a bit about me in the mean time: In 2016 I'll be in my third and final year of study, studying towards a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning. My favourite part of NZ are the Christchurch Botanical Gardens. My favourite hobby at the moment is surfing or colouring in. Something you don't know about me is I grew up in South Africa and moved to Christchurch in 2009. My favourite quote is, "Everything will be okay in the end and if it's not okay it's not the end".

Hapimana John Lines-Tohiariki

Hi I'm Hapi, and I'm looking forward to meeting you soon! Here's a bit about me in the mean time: In 2016 I will be in my fifth year studying a double degree in Commerce and Arts. My favourite place in New Zealand is Central Otago over the summer. My favourite hobby is anything to do with sports especially touch or rugby. Something you don't know about me is that I'm a vegetarian and can speak reasonable Maori. My favourite quote is, "Just play, have fun".
