Cheap food is like the bat signal for university students.

And we wouldn’t be very good at what we do unless we compiled all of that precious information into one location, would we? We’ve done you a solid and decided to tour the country to find the best places to eat, drink and have a darn good time, no matter what Village you’re from! So here it is: a compiled list of the best places to eat, drink and hang for Western Sydney Uni Village residents – something every first year student should know. Thank us later 😉

Top 3 Bars

The Bradbury
 96 The Parkway, Bradbury

The Bradbury should be on your list for number one places to hang out in the area. They’ve got food, they’ve got drinks, pool tables, and an awesome outdoor seating area to hang out with your mates on a Friday afternoon. Head down there to watch the NRL or grab a bite to eat. On Thursdays from 7pm and Fridays from 5pm they have $6 cocktails – if that doesn’t entice you, we’re not sure what will. If drinking isn’t your thing, head down on a Sunday for $1 pool with your mates and unwind before another week of classes.

192 Queen St, Campbelltown

If you’re a cocktail lover (or even if you’re not), look no further. Five-O’s does $5 cocktails every Friday and Saturday from 5pm. That’s the price of a cheap beer… Every other night they are $10, and that’s still cheaper than most places in the city! Order the Toffee Apple for something out of the box!

Bambu Cocktail Bar
Western Suburbs Leagues Club, 10 Old Leumeah Rd, Leumeah

The Bambu Cocktail Bar is yet another place to choose from when you want to catch up with your mates over a drink. Fast becoming one of the best night spots in the area, you get to take your pick from normal and premium beers, as well as $7 cocktails between 7:30-9pm. If you consider yourself a Game of Thrones or The Simpsons mastermind make sure you check out their trivia nights!

Top 3 Eats

San Churro
Shop C016, Lvl 1, Macarthur Square Shopping Centre, 200 Gilchrist Drive

If you haven’t heard of San Churros we’re a little worried for you. Get yourself down to the Mac Square and get among it ASAP. This Chocolateria specialises in Spanish Churros – Spanish doughnuts dusted in sugar and dipped in melted couverture chocolate or Spanish caramel. If Churros ain’t your thang, that’s cool! They do a huge range of desserts, hot chocolates, coffees, shakes and smoothies. You’re welcome.

Panarottis Pizza & Pasta
Shop 39, Lvl 1, Macarthur Square Shopping Centre

Don’t freak out, but these guys have a Pizza Happy Hour. If you don’t feel your heart beat quicken at the thought of cheap pizza, you sure are healthier than us. On Mondays and Tuesdays all large pizzas are $15 – that’s cheaper than Dominos. They also do an awesome Schnitzel Lunch Combo for $14.95, for those of you who aren’t big on Italian. Vegetarian options available!

Guzman y Gomez
Shop C34B, Lvl 1, Macarthur Square Shopping Centre

Oh man, if we could marry Guzman y Gomez we would! They specialise in Mexican urban street food and it is amazing. Don’t worry; it’s not all bad for you. You can order a burrito bowl which leaves the wrap out – substitute white rice for brown rice and throw some barramundi in or take the vego option and voila! A healthy meal. If you’re ravenous give the spicy steak nachos a try, or if you’re just after a quick snack try the Quesadillas.

And that’s it! It won’t be hard to tick these places off the Western Sydney Uni Village Bucket List and start off your student experience right – heaps of the locals swear by these places, and you’re bound to find yourself there sooner or later! If you have any more great local spots, let us know and we will review them for everyone!
